Jane Jensen
Second Grade Teacher

Hi!!
My name is Jane Jensen, and I’m one of the second-grade teachers here at Arvada K-8. I’ve been teaching in Jeffco for ten years—one year at Martensen Elementary and the other nine teaching here at Arvada K-8. I grew up in Arvada and attended Little Elementary, Moore Middle School and Pomona High School. I’m a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and received my teaching license in primary education from Metropolitan State University. I have also completed an ESL endorsement at Regis University.
I’m married, and we have a daughter who’s almost 4 and an energetic boxer named Archer. Our family loves being active. We like working out, riding dirt bikes, doing all sorts of water sports and snowboarding.
I love teaching and went into education thinking that teachers needed to excite children about school to make learning fun. I now know that it takes much more than that, but, with a certain amount of inspiration, enthusiasm and motivation, I think that I can help my students develop the qualities they will need to be successful. I hope they will also develop a sense of empathy, be good citizens and know the value of hard work. I can’t wait to establish a life-long relationship with your child.

Second Grade Teacher

My name is Kerrie Ward. I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I attended Western Colorado University and Metropolitan State University. I started my teaching career in 1999 and have taught kindergarten and first grade.
I live in Arvada, Colorado with my husband and my two sons. We also have two dogs that bring us great joy! We enjoy camping and taking trips to explore mountain towns. One of our favorite mountain towns is Grand Lake.
Arvada K-8 is an awesome place to teach and learn! I love the staff because they are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help the students succeed. I love meeting my new students each year and building relationships with them and their families. There is no other place I would rather be!
