Maggie Jensen
School Counselor

My name is Maggie Jensen. I am thrilled to be returning for my second year as a school counselor. I was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I received my Masters at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO.
During the summer, you can find me digging around in my community garden. My favorite vegetables to grow and eat are; corn, tomatoes, beets and peppers. I also enjoy hiking and camping with my two dogs, Rio and Elee (pictured).
The students at Arvada K-8 is why I love our school! I feel so lucky to help students with academic, social/emotional and future planning needs.
Siara McWilliams
School Counselor

Hi there! My name is Siara, and I am joining the Arvada K-8 family as a new addition to the counseling team. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in School Counseling. I have worked in education for over 5 years and love it more every day.
I am a Colorado native and enjoy exploring this beautiful state whenever I can. I never pass up a chance to catch those stunning Colorado sunsets! In my free time, I enjoy thrift shopping, reading, and a good game night with friends and family.
As a school counselor, I love working alongside students to help them find ways to be their best selves in and out of the classroom. I am here to support all students with their academic, personal, and social-emotional needs. I can’t wait to start connecting with students, their families, and this great community!
Reed McIntyre
School Counselor

Hi, my name is Reed McIntyre and I’m one of the School Counselors. I was born in Iowa and moved to Colorado 7 years ago for graduate school. I got my degree in Counseling Psychology and worked at K-8 for four years as the school-based therapist.
I like backpacking, biking, volleyball, basketball, softball, reading, and exercise. When I turn on the TV I watch Lord of The Rings, The Office, and Interstellar on repeat. I love K-8 for the awesome kids and loving staff that I get to see every day. Investing in our future means investing in our kids and that motivates me to show up each and every day.

Social Emotional Learning Specialist

A big part of why I came to Arvada-K8 was because of the diverse backgrounds of this community. Both of my parents are Nigerian and I understand the importance of elevating the values of different cultures! I also sing around town from time to time so if you see me, feel free to say hello! I often use music with students, so if they come home singing a jingle, you can blame it on me! 🙂
This community of students are jam packed with so many kind critical thinkers, advocators, and overcomers!!! Thank you for trusting us with your children and please let us know how we can continue to support you throughout the year. I strongly believe that it "takes a village to raise a child" and your partnership is crucial!
