Maggie Jensen
School Counselor

My name is Maggie Jensen. I am thrilled to be returning for my second year as a school counselor. I was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I received my Masters at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO.

During the summer, you can find me digging around in my community garden. My favorite vegetables to grow and eat are; corn, tomatoes, beets and peppers.  I also enjoy hiking and camping with my two dogs, Rio and Elee (pictured).

The students at Arvada K-8 is why I love our school! I feel so lucky to help students with academic, social/emotional and future planning needs.

Siara McWilliams
School Counselor

Hi there! My name is Siara, and I am joining the Arvada K-8 family as a new addition to the counseling team. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in School Counseling. I have worked in education for over 5 years and love it more every day.

I am a Colorado native and enjoy exploring this beautiful state whenever I can. I never pass up a chance to catch those stunning Colorado sunsets! In my free time, I enjoy thrift shopping, reading, and a good game night with friends and family.

As a school counselor, I love working alongside students to help them find ways to be their best selves in and out of the classroom. I am here to support all students with their academic, personal, and social-emotional needs.  I can’t wait to start connecting with students, their families, and this great community!

Reed McIntyre
School Counselor

Hi, my name is Reed McIntyre and I’m one of the School Counselors. I was born in Iowa and moved to Colorado 7 years ago for graduate school. I got my degree in Counseling Psychology and worked at K-8 for four years as the school-based therapist.

I like backpacking, biking, volleyball, basketball, softball, reading, and exercise. When I turn on the TV I watch Lord of The Rings, The Office, and Interstellar on repeat. I love K-8 for the awesome kids and loving staff that I get to see every day. Investing in our future means investing in our kids and that motivates me to show up each and every day.

Erin St. John
School Social Worker

Hi! My name is Erin and I am originally from Florida- and yes, I have pet an alligator. I attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where I received my Bachelor of Social Work and my Master of Social Work. I have worked with both elementary and middle school kiddos, and this is my second year at Arvada K-8 as a School Social Worker.

I enjoy the outdoors and love going hiking, kayaking, and camping. Quarantine gave me the time to learn how to crochet and become a puzzle enthusiast. I also love watching scary movies, going to concerts, and traveling to new places.

I love Arvada K-8 because of the amazing staff and students. I work with such caring and supportive people who want the best for our students. Arvada K-8 students and staff are resilient, and I can’t wait to see what this school year will bring us!

Erin Graff
Jefferson County Mental Health Therapist

Hello!  My name is Erin and I am originally from Omaha, NE.  I've lived in some other amazing cities as well, such as Chicago, Austin, and LA, and I'm coming up on 8 years in Denver.  I studied Theatre and English at Loyola University of Chicago, and I graduated as a Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2018.  This is my second semester as Arvada K-8's Jefferson Center school-based therapist.

Nature is my favorite place to be and I feel very grateful to have so many outdoor activities close to home.  Most of my free time is spent hiking, but I really enjoy climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, and any other activity our beautiful state offers.  Yoga and mindfulness are also a big, bright part of my physical and mental well being.  I also spend a lot of time with (or Facetiming with) my lovely family and friends.

I love the authenticity and kindness of the staff and students at K-8.  Especially in the midst of 2020's big transitions, it's been an honor to witness the resilience and adaptability of this community.  I am eager to continue building strong relationships with K-8 kids, families, and staff during the 2020-2021 school year!
