Hello Timberwolves family! I am beyond excited to join the incredibly strong team here at Arvada K8. Arvada K8 is in a place of growth and discovery due to the hard and dedicated work of the staff. Thank you for allowing me to join the family.
I was born and spent a majority of my childhood in California, with a break of 8 years living and thriving in Alaska. I moved to Colorado 25 years ago and consider myself a “native”. I graduated from Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO earning my BA in History. I taught Social Studies, and earned my MA in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado Denver. I then dove into the world of school based administration and have collaborated with high caliber teams in Denver Public Schools and Jeffco. I have been an Educator for 20 years and will continue to support communities for as long as possible.
I am a United States Marine serving over 20 years as a Marine Corps Reservist. I have deployed numerous times in support of various operations. I am retiring from the Marines in May 2023 and am excited to spend more time with my family.
I have a step-daughter, Mariah, who is a college Sophomore and ARMY Reservist. My son, Michael, is a college Sophomore, and my daughter, Shannon, is a 7th grader. Together, we are a very active family and spend the majority of our time outdoors enjoying the gifts of Colorado.
