Lindsay Schultz
7th Grade Science

Hello! My name is Lindsay Schultz and I am the new middle school science teacher! I have lived in Colorado the majority of my life, but love traveling on fun adventures! I received my bachelor's degree in Evolutionary and Ecological Sciences (AKA. Biology) from the University of Northern Colorado. I went on to get my Masters in Teaching from Colorado State University! I have been teaching in Denver for about 3 years now, and love being able to guide my students towards becoming a lifelong learner in science! I believe that it is essential to understand how the world works so we can be stewards of our environment.
When I am not teaching I love spending my time hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and snowboarding with my husband and 2 boys! When we can't be outside I love crafting! I love sewing, scrapbooking, and almost any other crafts!
I am excited for the opportunity to work with the Avada K8 team because it allows me to continue working in a community that I am truly passionate about! I have heard amazing things from this community and I am excited to embark on this journey!
Chris Filson
8th Grade Science

Hello! My name is Chris Filson and I am one of the middle school science teachers here. I was born and raised in Houston, TX, but got to Colorado as soon as I could, moving here in 2007. I received my bachelor's degree from Kenyon College in Ohio where I studied History, Political Science, and Astronomy. I received my master's degree from MSU Denver in elementary education. Until I came to Arvada K8, I had always taught elementary students including 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades, but I love teaching middle school science.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my wife and young son and marveling at all the things he is learning. I enjoy all types of games, from board games, to video games, to pen and paper roll playing games. I enjoy sharing my passion for games by running after school board game and Dungeons & Dragons clubs. Other things I enjoy are household projects, frisbee golf at Memorial Park, and skiing.
I love being at Arvada K8 because this my community. I have lived in Arvada since 2014. My wife and I recently bought our first home just up the street from the school because we love Arvada so much. I feel very lucky to be part of this community both as an educator and a resident.
