About Us

Arvada K-8 Timber Wolves

Arvada K-8 is a unique and innovative learning environment created in 2010 by combining Russell Elementary and Arvada Middle School. We believe this inclusive concept benefits all of our students and we are proud of the multi-age learning culture we have established.

Our rich history dates back to 1954 when our building was built as Arvada High School.  We became Arvada Middle School from 1971-2010. We are situated near the historic Olde Town of Arvada, less than a dozen miles from downtown Denver to the east, or the Rocky Mountains to the west.

Our Arvada K-8 school mascot is the Timber Wolf. The Timber Wolf, was an endangered species as recently as several decades ago. The Timber Wolf is now thriving across North America. We think the Timber Wolf is a fitting mascot for our thriving school.

We at Arvada K-8 provide an academically rich learning environment. Our Positive Behavioral Support (PBIS) program is called PACK. PACK stands for Perseverance, Ambition, Community, and Kindness. These are the values that students and staff practice and support daily in our accredited program. Our school colors are red and white.
